Volleyball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Catholic Central was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lincoln Academy on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hilltoppers fell just short of the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Hilltoppers have struggled against the Blue Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Catholic Central actually scored more points across those five sets (103-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Karley Loos paced Catholic Central's offense, picking up 14 kills. Loos got some help from Averie Calkins and her 22 assists. Loos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Brookfield Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Catholic Central will be playing at home against Williams Bay at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookfield Academy, they will challenge Kenosha Christian Life on Friday.
