Soccer Game Preview: Wauconda vs. Waukegan

Wauconda is a perfect 4-0 against Waukegan since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Wauconda will be playing in front of their home fans against Waukegan at 6:15 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wauconda managed to keep up with Warren Township until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bulldogs came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 5-1. Wauconda haven't had much luck with Warren Township recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Waukegan was forced to settle for a draw. They and Grayslake North finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

Waukegan's goal came courtesy of Kaylan Acosta, which was the first she's scored this season.

With that draw, Waukegan's record moves to 2-2-1. As for Wauconda, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Wauconda was able to grind out a solid victory over Waukegan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Does Wauconda have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waukegan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
