Basketball Recap: Lansing Comes Up Short

Lansing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 71-57 bruising from the Piper Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Pirates are ranked fourth).

Lansing's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Piper, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lansing will square off against Turner at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Piper, they will take on Seaman at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Piper's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
