Volleyball Recap: Lake Park Falls Despite Big Games from Deven Townsend and Makenna Townsend

Lake Park lost against Hersey back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lancers fell 2-0 to the Huskies.

Makenna Townsend and Deven Townsend certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Makenna had six kills, six digs, and three aces, while Deven had ten digs and two assists.

Lake Park has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Hersey, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Park will face off against St. Charles East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hersey, they will be playing at home against Warren Township at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
