Basketball Recap: Sussex Central Takes a Loss

Sussex Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Polytech Panthers and fell 69-29. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Panthers are ranked eighth).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Polytech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sierra Henry, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. Henry is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Saniya Skinner was another key player, going 12 for 25 en route to 26 points and five steals.

Sussex Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Polytech, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sussex Central has already played their next contest, a 61-20 loss against Cape Henlopen on the 6th. As for Polytech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-46 defeat against Smyrna on the 6th.
