Baseball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short

Southeast suffered their closest defeat since April 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Booker Tornadoes by a score of 9-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 two weeks ago.

Jose Correa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kevin Miranda also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Southeast has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. Booker now has a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast will take on Bayshore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bayshore has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something Southeast will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Booker, they will challenge North Port at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
