Baseball Recap: Sugar Valley Rural Victorious

The Sugar Valley Rural Phoenix were able to grind out a solid win over the Williamson Warriors on Monday, taking the game 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Sugar Valley Rural let Lincoln Breon and Dakota Jodun run wild. Breon went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Jodun went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most runs Breon has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryer Martin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sugar Valley Rural's victory bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for Williamson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Sugar Valley Rural will take on Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Williamson, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Wyalusing Valley at 4:30 p.m. The Warriors are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
