Volleyball Recap: Palmyra Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Palmyra took on Crete on Monday. The Panthers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Palmyra started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 22-25, 25-12, 27-25, 15-6.

Dannica Hose paced Palmyra's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hose got some help from Audrey Erhart and her 18 assists. Kenli Peterson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Palmyra has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Crete, their win ended an eight-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-15.

Palmyra wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Weeping Water on the 7th. As for Crete, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Milford on the 7th.
