Baseball Game Preview: Kelseyville Knights vs. Arcata Tigers

The Kelseyville Knights will take on the Arcata Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kelseyville's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

Kelseyville's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pierce with a sharp 20-0 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Kyle Watkins was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max Hommer, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Kelseyville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Arcata earned a 5-1 victory over St. Bernard's on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Arcata's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Kelseyville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Kelseyville skirted past Arcata 6-5 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will Kelseyville repeat their success, or does Arcata have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
