Basketball Game Preview: Midview Middies vs. Steele Comets

The Midview Middies will head out on the road to challenge the Steele Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

Midview is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Olmsted Falls on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Midview was beaten by Olmsted Falls 73-46. While losing is never fun, the Middies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 262nd).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Xavier Young, who went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Newton, who posted ten points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Steele narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North Ridgeville 64-61. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Steele's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Midview, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Midview was taken down by Steele 68-32 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Midview was down 46-15.
