Sylacauga took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Opelika, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Aggies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for Sylacauga, who have now won six matches in a row.

Natalie Perez was the driving force of Sylacauga's attack as she scored both of Sylacauga's goals, bringing her season total up to 15 goals.

Sylacauga's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Opelika, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10-2 record this season.
