Recap: Wakeland Wolverines vs. Sherman Bearcats
The Wakeland Wolverines entered their tilt with the Sherman Bearcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Wakeland blew past Sherman, posting a 56-24 victory at home. Wakeland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 32 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Brennan Myer, who threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Myer hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for eight straight games. Ryder Treadway did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Sherman's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caleb Orr, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Randy Nelson, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wakeland's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Sherman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Wakeland will head out on the road to face off against Frisco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frisco comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Sherman, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Liberty.
