Softball Recap: Elko Takes a Loss

Elko and Churchill County pushed the score to 17-2 the last time they played Churchill County, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Indians fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 2-1. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Taylor Hunton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elko saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Seipp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Elko's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Churchill County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

While Elko had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
