Basketball Recap: Shemiah Mccoy and Brooklyn Swann Secure Win for Huss

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Huss walked away with it. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over the Franklin Panthers on Tuesday.

Huss was led to victory by Brooklyn Swann and Shemiah McCoy. Swann dropped a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds, while McCoy posted 30 points in addition to five boards and five steals. McCoy is becoming a predictor of Huss' success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 12-1 (and 5-6 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jaleila Littlejohn, who earned 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Huss smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 14 consecutive matches.

Franklin lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mckenna Plemmons, who had 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bristol Brooks, who put up 17 points.

Huss' record now sits at 17-7. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Looking ahead, Huss is taking a road trip to take on A.C. Reynolds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huss is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
