After a string of eight wins, Tatum's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Troup Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Grant Adcock was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kody Hines, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Tatum's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-5. As for Troup, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

While Tatum had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
