Football Game Preview: Saline Hornets vs. Harper Woods Pioneers

The Saline Hornets will challenge the Harper Woods Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Saline beats Harper Woods with 42 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Hornets took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Huron. The victory was just business as usual for the Hornets, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Saline found their leader in sophomore Trae Foster, who threw for 188 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.

Saline's run defense was locked in: Huron could only muster -3.2 yards per carry. The Hornets didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harper Woods). They claimed a resounding 41-7 win over Rochester. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pioneers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Falcons are ranked 135th).

Saline's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Harper Woods, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-0.
