The Rincon/University Rangers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cholla Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cholla took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rincon/University, who comes in off a win.

Rincon/University took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 60-37 margin over Buena. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.

Rincon/University got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sabrina Wexler out in front who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Wexler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Safo, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Rincon/University was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Cholla took a blow against Walden Grove on Wednesday, falling 50-7. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Red Wolves: they've now lost three in a row.

The win snapped Rincon/University's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record. As for Cholla, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Rincon/University against Cholla in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
