Recap: Anna Coyotes vs. Celina Bobcats
The Anna Coyotes had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Celina. That's another feather in the cap for Anna, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Anna found their leader in underclassman Holland Jackson, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Jackson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Cooper, who scored four points along with 18 rebounds and four steals.
Anna is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Celina, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anna will face off against Panther Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Anna a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Celina, they will head out on the road to challenge Aubrey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aubrey is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
