Baseball Game Preview: Washington Tigers vs. Hoover Vikings

The Washington Tigers will face off against the Hoover Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight losses, while Hoover will come in with five straight victories.

On Monday, Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Alliance and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Hoover gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Wadsworth.

Jack Andes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Mason Groninger looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, JR Cook was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Jack Ziarko was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
