Basketball Recap: Alchesay's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Alchesay hadn't done well against Winslow recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Alchesay Falcons blew past the Winslow Bulldogs 68-46. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 76-74 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Leading Alchesay to victory were Adrian Dosela and Max Antonio. Dosela went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points, while Antonio went 6 of 8 en route to 14 points and five boards. That's the most points Dosela has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Judah Yazzie, who posted seven points.

When it comes to explaining why Winslow lost, don't look at Jace Smith. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac David, who scored 14 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Alchesay, bringing their record for this year to 19-7. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 5.87 assists in those games compared to only 5.87 in the others. As for Winslow, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Alchesay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-56 defeat against Holbrook on the 28th. As for Winslow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-51 victory against Show Low on the 28th.
