Baseball Recap: Caldera Takes a Loss

If Caldera was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Crook County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Caldera took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Salem Saxons on Friday. The matchup marked Caldera's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Caldera saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Downing, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Caldera's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Salem, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Caldera and South Salem will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Caldera is set to face off against their familiar foe Bend at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Salem will challenge rival McNary at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
