Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Silver Find Success

IMG Academy Silver lost to Seffner Christian back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The IMG Academy Silver Ascenders walked away with a 5-1 win over the Seffner Christian Crusaders.

Chino Santana looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, IMG Academy Silver's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Chavez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Ari Dym was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

IMG Academy Silver is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Seffner Christian now has a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IMG Academy Silver will face off against McKeel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seffner Christian, they will challenge Victory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
