Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Sam Rayburn Rebels
The Tom Bean Tomcats were the 43-42 winner over the Sam Rayburn Rebels when they last played one another on January 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. Tom Bean took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels.
When it comes to explaining why Tom Bean lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Samantha Lind. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Lind hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Allie Hickman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Tom Bean has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Sam Rayburn, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.
Tom Bean will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. Celeste is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Sam Rayburn will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th.
