Baseball Recap: Burton Comes Up Short

Burton played against Washington on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Burton is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burton will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.6 runs per game on average), something the Pumas will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Sacred Heart Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
