Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Chicago Washington Patriots with a sharp 22-13 win. Considering the Hawks have won 13 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Litzie Bucio and Cassandra Medrano did most of the damage at the plate: Bucio got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Medrano got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Bucio has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Lopez, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .580. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
