Football Recap: Irvine Beats Kennedy for Their Third Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Irvine). They put the hurt on the Kennedy Fighting Irish with a sharp 36-15 win on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Vaqueros have won by exactly 21 points.

Sina Saferzadeh had a dynamite game, rushing for 93 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 129 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Although Kennedy took the loss, they still got scores from Gabriel Roman and Kane Makhlouf.

The victory was the third in a row for Irvine, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.7 points over those games. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Irvine and Santa Ana will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. The game will give the Vaqueros their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. This will also be the Fighting Irish's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
