Basketball Recap: Mayson Jeppsen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Box Elder over Viewmont

Box Elder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Viewmont Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bees of the 63-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mayson Jeppsen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Jeppsen a new career-high in assists (six). Another player making a difference was Carter Buchanon, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points.

Box Elder's record now sits at 0-12. As for Viewmont, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Box Elder will host Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
