Softball Recap: Cienega Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

Cienega won the last time they faced Pueblo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bobcats blew past the Warriors 16-2. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Kylie Bristol made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cienega got a massive performance out of Micaela Valenzuela, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Valenzuela has posted since back in February. Melissa Barron also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cienega always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo only posted an OBP of .263.

Cienega is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Pueblo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Cienega will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
