Basketball Recap: Brooke Kesey and Katie Bechtel Secure Win for Boyd Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clarksville Christian, Boyd Christian was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals by a score of 45-37.

Leading Boyd Christian to victory were Katie Bechtel and Brooke Kesey. Bechtel posted 17 points and five boards, while Kesey dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Kesey is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Macie Bush, who scored ten points and five boards.

Jefferson Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Reed, who put up 17 points. Anna Reed was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Boyd Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-12 record this season. Jefferson Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Boyd Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-58 defeat against Jordan Christian Prep on the 6th. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-32 win against Blue Ridge Christian on the 6th.
