Basketball Recap: Gavin Snow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Windsor Academy over Gatewood

Windsor Academy lost against Gatewood two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Windsor Academy Knights fell 77-70 to the Gatewood Gators. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (61), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Windsor Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gavin Snow, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards. Snow has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Lamar, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 boards.

Even though they lost, Windsor Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

It was another big night for Matt Allen, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 17 rebounds for Gatewood. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Gatewood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Keiser, who posted 17 points.

Windsor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Gatewood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Academy will face off against Brentwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Windsor Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Gatewood, they will challenge Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Gatewood's favor as the squad sits on 20 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Trinity Christian has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
