Volleyball Recap: New Britain Falls Short Against Ranked Farmington

New Britain faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Golden Hurricanes fell just short of the River Hawks by a score of 3-2. The Golden Hurricanes were not able to make up for their loss to the River Hawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

New Britain took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12.

New Britain's loss came despite strong showings from Liam Alape and Casper Adamus. Alape had 17 digs and four aces, while Adamus had 14 kills, seven digs, and one block. Adamus has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 31 times he's played. Joshua Ramales was another key player, getting 16 assists and seven digs.

New Britain has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Farmington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

New Britain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against East Hartford on the 14th. Farmington has also already played their next game (against Norwich Free Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
