Basketball Game Preview: Box Elder Bears vs. North Star Knights

Box Elder and North Star are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Box Elder Bears will head out on the road to face off against the North Star Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Box Elder came up short against Fort Benton and fell 46-37. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Shareece Raining Bird, who posted 15 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Martay Stiffarm-Rosette, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, North Star also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Turner by a score of 57-46.

Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for North Star, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Box Elder came up short against North Star when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 52-45. Can Box Elder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
