Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Clinton Christian Academy on Monday, St. Joseph Catholic came back down to earth. The Bruins came up short against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots on Thursday, falling 3-0. The loss put an end to the Bruins' undefeated start to the season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19, 25-8.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Macy Gladden out in front who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Gladden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Eatherly, who had 12 assists and five aces.

St. Joseph Catholic's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, their record is now 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. Joseph Catholic will challenge rival Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Bruins' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Madison-Ridgeland Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Hartfield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
