Volleyball Game Preview: Austin Prep Cougars vs. Proctor Academy Hornets

The Austin Prep Cougars will face off against the Proctor Academy Hornets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Proctor Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Austin Prep, who comes in off a win.

Proctor Academy will be up against a hot Austin Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against St. Paul's.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (117-116) Austin Prep actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-22, 27-29, 19-25, 17-15.

Austin Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia McSorley out in front who had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave McSorley a new career-high. Quinn McBride was another key player, getting four aces and three digs.

Meanwhile, Proctor Academy came up short against Austin Prep on Saturday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-8.

Austin Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Proctor Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
