Softball Game Preview: Andrews Mustangs vs. Snyder Tigers

The Andrews Mustangs will challenge the Snyder Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Andrews' favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Snyder has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Andrews proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 18) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Eastlake.

Kylie Gentile spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrews saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addi Baeza, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Snyder never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Brownfield on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Cubs. The Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 10th (when they won 25-3).

Andrews' win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Snyder, the victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Andrews got the 'W' in their previous meeting last Saturday against Snyder by a conclusive 25-3 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
