Baseball Recap: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Comes Up Short

Scotch Plains-Fanwood lost against Elizabeth back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders fell just short of the Minutemen by a score of 7-6. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jack Sponheimer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Joe LaRosa, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Elizabeth, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Coming up, Scotch Plains-Fanwood will face off against Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elizabeth, they will host Ferris at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
