Basketball Game Preview: Gorham Fayette Eagles vs. Stryker Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Gorham Fayette Eagles and the Stryker Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gorham Fayette will be strutting in after a victory while Stryker will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row dating back to last season, Gorham Fayette turned things around against Morenci last Friday. They walked away with a 37-30 win over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Stryker was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montpelier. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Locomotives are ranked 267th).

Stryker's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-6. As for Gorham Fayette, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Gorham Fayette came up short against Stryker in their previous meeting on December 10th, falling 50-38. Can Gorham Fayette avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
