Softball Preview: Poteet Aggies vs. Marion Bulldogs

Poteet is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Marion Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Poteet fell victim to Holy Cross and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Knights. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marion made easy work of Comfort on Saturday and carried off an 8-1 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Alyson Robles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cambry Dojahn, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Marion hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comfort struck out six times.

Marion has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Poteet's loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
