Basketball Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood was the 50-28 winner over Utica when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakewood Lancers took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Utica Redskins.

Lakewood dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Utica, their record now sits at 3-14.

Lakewood and Utica could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Lakewood will take on Johnstown-Monroe at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 454 places (663 vs. 209). Meanwhile, Utica (ranked 700th) will meet Fredericktown (ranked 288th) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
