The Van Nuys Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Van Nuys' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Van Nuys was able to grind out a solid victory over Grant, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Joaquin Boche made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Joel Enciso and Enzo Enciso did most of the damage at the plate: Joel went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Enzo went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Joel has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to Monroe.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denny Medrano, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That hit marked the first that Medrano has got this season.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Van Nuys, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Van Nuys was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences when the teams last played back in March, winning 6-1. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Vipers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
