Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Falls Short of Legend in the Playoffs

Douglas County and Legend squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Douglas County had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Titans. The Huskies have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Douglas County ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 25-20.

Reese Millar paced Douglas County's offense, picking up nine kills. Millar got some help from Lynniah Rodriguez and her 14 assists. Brynne Jacobs controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Breslyn Rarog was a one-woman wrecking crew For Legend. as she had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Rarog has posted over her last six contests.

Douglas County's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Legend, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Douglas County and Legend will both be playing Westminster the next time they take the court. The Huskies will head out to face the Wolves at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
