Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Shenandoah Valley Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Ridge). They were the clear victors by a 24-9 margin over the Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Stars: they've now won three in a row.

Blue Ridge got a massive performance out of Charles Searby, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The Barons are 2-1 when Searby posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Luca Verloet also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, they will face off against Blue Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jays will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight.
