Baseball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Maple Mountain Eagles

For the second straight game, Timpview will face off against Maple Mountain. The Thunderbirds will challenge the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Timpview has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Maple Mountain will arrive with five straight victories.

Maple Mountain hit Timpview with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbirds lost 13-4 to the Eagles.

For Maple Mountain's part, Kavyn Carter looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Carter has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Maple Mountain's record now sits at 14-2. As for Timpview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Timpview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Maple Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs.
