Softball Game Preview: CORE Butte Lynx vs. Los Molinos Bulldogs

CORE Butte hasn't had much luck against Los Molinos recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. CORE Butte will look to defend their home field against Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. This will be CORE Butte's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

CORE Butte is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Hoopa Valley on Saturday. CORE Butte walked away with a 6-1 win over Hoopa Valley.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Molinos). They put the hurt on Hayfork with a sharp 18-8 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Los Molinos got a massive performance out of Natalie Martinez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Martinez has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Jones was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Los Molinos' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for CORE Butte, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
