Baseball Recap: Thomas Nelson's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Thomas Nelson dropped their record down to 11-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 3-0 to the Nelson County Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Tuesday.

As for Nelson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

For Nelson County's part, Thomas Nelson's batters probably weren't too happy with Kaden Simpson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up six walks).

At the plate, Nelson County's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was E Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Rogers' first of the season.

Coming up, Thomas Nelson will welcome Fort Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Nelson County, they will head out to take on Butler at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
