Volleyball Recap: Clairemont's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Clairemont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Santa Ynez Pirates on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Chieftains, who have now won six contests in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Clairemont who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Santa Ynez saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Will Losson had nine digs and one assist.

Clairemont's victory bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Santa Ynez, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-4.

Clairemont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Sage Hill on the 24th. Santa Ynez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
