Basketball Game Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. Mathis Pirates

Taft hasn't had much luck against Mathis recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Taft Greyhounds will look to defend their home court against the Mathis Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Taft will be strutting in after a victory while Mathis will be coming in after a loss.

Taft took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with an 81-70 win over West Oso.

Meanwhile, Mathis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 55-37 bruising from George West.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Mathis, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
