Baseball Game Preview: Pine Forest Trojans vs. Jack Britt Buccaneers

Pine Forest hasn't had much luck against Jack Britt recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Pine Forest has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine Forest lost 22-2 to Pinecrest on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Pine Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Iggy Canny, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Jack Britt had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 9-6. That's two games straight that the Buccaneers have won by exactly three runs.

Trace Fowler was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Jack Britt: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Alex Jones also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pine Forest's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Jack Britt, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Pine Forest suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Jack Britt when the teams last played back in March. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
