Volleyball Recap: Southern Wake Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Southern Wake Academy faced off against River Mill on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Southern Wake Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (103-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 16-25, 16-14.

Ja'Siah Mack was nothing short of spectacular for River Mill: she had 32 digs and four aces. Those 32 digs gave Mack a new career-high.

Southern Wake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for River Mill, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Southern Wake Academy is taking a road trip to take on American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Mill, they will be playing at home against Ascend Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
