Volleyball Game Preview: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Leigh Longhorns

Evergreen Valley came up short against Branham on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Bruins since March 28, 2023.

While Evergreen Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-9, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Leigh made easy work of Piedmont Hills on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Leigh never let Piedmont Hills on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

Evergreen Valley better keep an eye on Shosei Chiang. He was instrumental in Leigh's win, getting 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Chiang a new career-high.

Leigh pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Evergreen Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
